Notice of Village Council Virtual Meeting

NOTICE is hereby given that the Village of Decatur Regular Village Council Meeting scheduled for September 8th will be held virtually beginning at 7:00 PM. We understand that this is a departure from our normal meeting format, but we appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation as we work to do our utmost to continue to ensure everyone’s safety.

To attend the meeting from a computer, smartphone, or tablet, please follow this link before the start of the meeting (the meeting will be open to attendees beginning at 6:30 PM):

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88004058565

Please note, if attending the meeting on a PC and wishing to make a public comment, you will need a microphone on your computer or join the audio portion by phone. You will be prompted when joining on how to configure your audio settings.

The meeting can also be attended entirely by voice call. Again, you would not be able to see any slides but could hear all agenda items, discussions, participate and listen to public comments, and hear all votes that may occur. Any of the following numbers may be called to join via audio only:

• (312) 626-6799 • (929) 205-6099 • (253) 215-8782

• (346) 248-7799 • (669) 900-6833 • (301) 715-8592

All visitors will be muted upon joining the meeting as an effort to help manage the meeting effectively. Public comment periods will still be held at the beginning and end of the meeting. The process for making a public comment, however, will be a bit different. To make a public comment, all visitors will need to utilize the “raise your hand” function so that the host can see they wish to make a comment and unmute them when it is their turn to speak. If joining on a PC or mobile phone you will see the option to “raise your hand” on the menu. For anyone who chooses to use the call-in line only, you will need to press *9 on your phone when a call for public comment is made. Again, every effort will be made to ensure that all members of the public wishing to speak during public comment periods are able to do so effectively.

Information on joining the virtual meeting will also be published on our meeting agenda. As a reminder, all agendas, minutes, and packets can be viewed at the following link (for all new meetings, agendas and packets are posted by the Friday before the meeting):
