Garbage Services The Village of Decatur has contracted with Waste Management for garbage pick-up every Tuesday. Please call Waste Management at 800-796-9696 to begin service. It is the property owner's responsibility to have garbage service changed into owner or renter's name by calling Waste Management. The billing for this service is handled by Waste Management. Garbage Service is mandatory by a Village Ordinance. The Recycling Center is maintained by Waste Management and is located at 114 Eli Street on the grounds of the Public Works Garage, under the water tower.

Leaf Removal Village maintenance will pick up LEAF filled bags for disposal if put at the edge of the road. In leaf raking season, a leaf vacuum is also used for leaf disposal if leaves are raked to the edge of the road and piled for pick up. Twigs and branches must be separated from the leaves. There is an ordinance prohibiting BURNING OF ANY KIND. Leaves should be raked to the roadside or put in bags for disposal and put by the roadside for village pick-up.
